In Disney’s world of remakes and reboots, there has been much criticism for how the final product turns out. The studios’ more recent films are rather dubitably questionable, and the Disney fans seem to always wonder what is next in their future. Will they make live-action adaptations for Atlantis: The Lost Empire and/or Treasure Planet? Who knows for sure?
Several months ago, Disney was rumored to have a live-action Lilo and Stitch film in development. Now, it is all confirmed. Here are all the details!
In a report by The Disinsider, the film will begin filming this fall in Hawaii and is set to release on Disney+. Chris Sanders will return as the titular latter character, a blue extraterrestrial illegal genetic experiment. He has already co-directed, wrote, and designed characters in the 2002 film.
The synopsis for the film is as follows:
The story is about the bond formed between a lonely human girl named Lilo and a dog-like alien named Stitch, who is engineered to be a force of destruction.
The original film was successful in its own right and spawned a franchise that consisted of a few sequels, several video games, and a few theme park attractions. With a good following on this, there is no doubt that the live-action adaptation will succeed as well.
