Despite facing a months-long release delay, Disney’s Mulan is already getting a sequel. The film is a live-action adaption of the 1993 animated classic of the same name, though will not feature the iconic dragon Mushu or be a musical.
The news of the sequel comes from insider Daniel Richtman’s Patreon, a reliable source. Producers Chris Bender, Jason Reed, and Jake Weiner will return for the sequel, though it is unknown whether director Niki Caro will helm this sequel.
No details regarding the plot are currently available, and with the release of Mulan being pushed from March 27th to July 24th, there is no real way to even speculate where the story may go. Casting is also unknown, though it may be safe to assume that Yifei Liu will return as the titular character.
