Fans of beloved director M. Night Shyamalan were thrown a bone a few days ago as details for his next movie project were revealed.
Those of you who love M. Night are aware that he never reveals much, but he did give us something to keep us on our toes.
Variety reports that Alex Wolff, Eliza Scanlen, Thomasin McKenzie, Aaron Pierre, and Vicky Krieps are currently settling the terms for this super classified film!
Other important details include that Shyamalan will fully write, produce, and direct the upcoming film and Universal Pictures will be the studio to release it.
If the names of the possible cast members don’t ring a bell, do not fret! We got you. Here are some of the movies or TV shows they’re significantly known for. If it still doesn’t come to mind, then at least you have some brand new material to watch!
Alex Wolff rose to fame starring in the Nickelodeon TV show The Naked Brothers Band, alongside his older brother Nat Wolff, in 2007. Since then he has skyrocketed by starring in My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, the Jumanji reboot and its successor, and his most significant role yet, Ari Aster’s Hereditary.
Eliza Scanlen is a young actress finding her footing where she starred in the seventh adaptation of Little Women — which currently holds a 95% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Her other most notable role is in HBO‘s psychological thriller miniseries, Sharp Objects with Amy Adams and Patricia Clarkson.
Thomasin McKenzie is also a young actress climbing the ranks. Born in New Zealand, she won countless awards for the drama film Leave No Trace which premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival. Her most recent work includes Taika Waititi’s Jojo Rabbit, which went on to win an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
Aaron Pierre has yet to break out, although you can discover his immense potential in two of his outstanding TV shows: Syfy‘s Krypton, which tells the story of Superman’s grandfather; and Brittania, which was created by award-winning writer Jez Butterworth (Spectre and Ford v Ferrari).
Lastly, Vicky Krieps is a veteran when it comes to films. She is extremely famous for numerous roles in Luxembourg, French, and German movies. Her most noteworthy American films are Paul Thomas Anderson’s Phantom Thread which went on to become nominated at the Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, and more and Fede Alvarez’s The Girl in the Spider’s Web along with Claire Foy.
As we all prepare for what tidal wave M. Night is going to send our way, I suggest watching some of my most favorite films from him: The Sixth Sense (1999), Signs (2002), The Village (2004), The Visit (2015), and Split (2015).
