Last week’s cliffhanger delivered this week! The unknown call that Andy kept receiving was from Matt McGrath. He is a former victim of Andy’s first suspect Leonard Patz. Matt finally has the courage to tell Andy what he knows and they take the information to the prosecutors.  Before all of this happens Andy and Joanna are given access to check through Ben Rifkin’s phone. During this time Andy also finds out that Jacob has been using social media and confronts him about the repercussions.

One evening at home Andy notices a car parked outside the neighboring homes. The next morning when Laurie is going for a jog the car follows her. The driver isn’t exposed, but from the reflection in the mirror, you can see that it is an older man and he is smoking a cigarette.

The police search Patz’s house and when they don’t find the knife Andy tracks him down and yells at him in the middle of a street. On the day of Jacob’s birthday, Laurie and Andy go talk with Dr. Vogel. She tells them that he tested negative for the “murder gene” but he tested positive for other tests. Tests that reveal he lacks empathy and has violent tendencies. At Jacob’s birthday dinner his parents tell him the good news about testing negative, but fail to tell him about everything else. When they get home from dinner the same car is parked outside.

The episode ends with the Barber family leaving for Jacob’s trial. In my opinion, the episode was tame in comparison to others, not in a bad way. We still got a lot of new details that we didn’t know before. I think next week will be a rollercoaster episode. I hope the bulk of it is during Jacob’s trial.
