Today, Netflix announced that it has greenlit a prequel to it’s hit series The Witcher, based on the novels by author Andrzej Sapkowski and the critically-acclaimed video games of the same name. The new series, titled The Witcher: Blood Origin, will have six episodes, and be set 1,200 years prior to the exploits of Geralt of Rivia.
Blood Origin will follow the first Witcher as the world of elves and other monsters are introduced to man. Shooting in the United Kingdom, the series will find Declan de Barra as showrunner and executive producer, with executive producer Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, executive producer of The Witcher Seasons 1 and 2, working on this series limited series as well.
