The through-line begun in the last episode of uncomfortable revelations starts this episode strong while, at the same time, poking at the tribulations audiences face of studio and overall profit-driven media. Furthermore, in the wake of any possible weaknesses, those who are strong-willed continue to assert their dominance or resort to unrealistic (yet curious) PR moves, which begs the question: what might those moves mean, and when might they crack?

Those that are fighting to take down The Supes find strength in their folly, and when it comes to matters of the heart, they relate much deeper yet are also driven more individually. Putting this into perspective, polarizing to The Supes, it should make them stronger.

We are reminded as the episode goes on that this team is a cocktail of self-destructive behavior mixed with an understanding of life’s losses in their crazy world: it creates an energy they relish in with their own moments, but if concentrated, can make them much stronger than the Supes where it counts.

The powers that be, and the facades they create, just sink irredeemable characters deeper and leave us hoping for redemption. In one particular moment, however, a character that has certainly been teetering recently vibes a game-changing moment, one that is danced around but leaves curiosity as to if it will come to fruition in some fashion.

The show does something interesting in planting a new and mysterious seed in each episode beyond what our usuals are going through. It leave us thinking: what does it have to do with them? How does it affect them? Other interactions, I’ve found, are just how their universe is written, bonding the characters to the point of making them almost familial (a matter that brings both the braun and the brain of a brewing conflict to a head, and brings about wonder if there’s more of it to come).

When it comes to what’s planted, a stem of the Season 2 premiere that been just sprouting since seems to be growing multiple roots in this universe. It really starts to show here, and makes this episode a definitive one that makes us yearn for the next three.
