With juices of the impending fruit, so to speak, from the previous episode churning quicker than what we might have thought, we delve into the legacy of one of the most essential members of our titular vigilante team. As we take a look back at the foundations of one, it’s juxtaposed with the crumbling at the hands of our most villainous Supes. Both of these plots are ventured into for very fulfilling characterization that satisfies by the episode’s conclusion.

The Boys definitely need all the help they can get, and when they get who they need, dynamics — as they have been throughout the season — are tested. Of course, conflict points that preceded these events were setups that start to pay off. Amidst these dueling perspectives of humanity, between supes and humans themselves, what’s important to remember is the team is coming back together in whatever way they can, as it should be.

A couple of our supes are also forming their own unique dynamics apart from the Seven themselves. As the politics have been boiling, the number of members is starting to stray from the Seven to reclaim their image (all at the behest of this random choice of soda), as corrupt as everything may seem.

What’s interesting is that Homelander (Antony Starr) does set quite a standard, but it becomes clear in this episode there is conflict beyond this super man, both in his stature and in the world unfolding around him. At one point, this threat is believed to be him, by this viewer especially, but who arrives on the scene quite literally walks us into a world that we’ve been anticipating and that may as well set up seasons to come. Simultaneously, certain stakes allow for a character to take a stance, that, although is rocky for them to get there, gives way to even further potential which really exhibits itself throughout the rest of the episode and intends to do so with the episodes that remain.

Overall, revelations are reached, whether they are in favor of the protagonists or of the conflict they find themselves in, steamrolling towards the final two episodes!
