Halloween has not left us behind this year. Blumhouse’s Halloween Kills BlumFest panel brings new information on the newest slasher flick.
Scream queen and Laurie Strode actor Jamie Lee Curtis starts by discussing the emotional weight of women’s trauma, not just in cinema but in the horrors of reality as well. In addition, the director of the predecessor, David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, The Sitter), cites the sequel as The Empire Strikes Back of this new trilogy of Halloween films, that the 2018 film is just a set-up for what is to come, bringing in old faces from the past. Producer Bill Block also says the film will be socially relevant to the times of current events.
Gordon Green then shows the audience another teaser of the film. In it, we see Lee Curtis narrating, “Next Halloween when the sun sets and someone is alone, he kills.” The film looks to take place partially in a hospital.

Halloween Kills is set to premiere next year on October 15th, with its successor Halloween Ends scheduled to release on October 14th, 2022!
