The moment we have all been waiting for has come. Be honest; you were waiting for this. We got to see The Batman panel at today’s DC FanDome event!
Read ahead for all the awesome information revealed. Potential spoilers for those who want to see the film going in knowing nearly nothing!
Panel Details
Robert Pattinson talks about how many fans connect to the character “for many different reasons”.
Director/ co-writer Matt Reeves reiterates last year’s DC FanDome event announcements. The Batman will be inspired by the Year One storyline but not so dependent on it.
Pattinson, Reeves, and Zoë Kravitz all lead the panel for the film. Kravitz was in the audition process for the role of Selina Kyle/ Catwoman. The film cast Pattinson in the role of Bruce Wayne/ Batman while this happened. He wore Val Kilmer’s Batsuit for the screen test.
Reeves says they are almost done filming the project.
They discuss wearing their characters’ costumes as well as moving as Wayne and Kyle. Kravitz aims to “create a real human being … in a real situation”. She points out the character’s “heart and humanity”.
Trailer Breakdown
A new The Batman trailer has been released, as many fans have expected.
Edward Nashton/ Riddler (Paul Dano) is arrested at a coffee shop. His famous Question mark symbol is made in a coffee cup.
Batman has run-ins with Catwoman and Oswald “Oz” Cobblepot/ Penguin (Colin Farrell). Kyle asks him, “Who are you under there?” She is referring to his mask.
James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright), Carmine Falcone (John Turturro), Gil Colson (Peter Sarsgaard), and Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis) will also appear in the film.
Matt Reeves’s The Batman will premiere on March 4th, 2022!
