The adult cast of Yellowjackets continues to grow. Variety announced this past week that Obi-Wan Kenobi star, Simone Kessell, will join the cast as Adult Lottie.
Actress Courtney Eaton currently portrays the teenage version of Lottie on the hit series. Over the course of Yellowjackets Season 1, Lottie’s mental health unraveled after she runs out of anti-psychotic medication while she and the rest of the girls are trapped in the wilderness in the late ’90s.
In the present day, foreboding hints were planted about the activities of adult Lottie, and the threat she could pose to all the characters. The mysterious cult she started during the time the characters were trapped in the wilderness seems to have survived into the present day. Season 1 ends with Juliette Lewis’s character, Natalie, being kidnapped by Lottie’s cult.
Background on Simone Kessell and Yellowjackets
Most recently, Kessell portrayed Breha Organa in the Disney + series, Obi-Wan Kenobi. Breha is the adoptive mother of Princess Leia and is desperate to keep her daughter safe.
This news comes on the heels of Six Feet Under alum, Lauren Ambrose, joining the cast of Yellowjackets Season 2 last weekend as the adult version of Van, who is portrayed in the ’90s timeline by Liv Hewson.
Created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, Yellowjackets has earned several Emmy nominations for its engaging and thrilling first season. Production on Yellowjackets Season 2 will begin later this month.
