Get ready to hit the road one last time! Variety reports that Louis Leterrier is directing Fast and Furious 11. Leterrier directed the upcoming Fast X. Leterrier replaced Justin Lin as director on Fast X after Lin left due to creative differences early on in production. Lin previously directed several Fast and Furious entries including, Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift, Fast Five and F9.
Louis joined the ‘Fast & Furious’ team seamlessly, with an innate understanding of the franchise that is stronger than ever after two decades. Under his direction, ‘Fast X’ is a high intensity thriller with all the spectacular action, emotion, and twists that the fans have come to expect – and then some. We are thrilled that he will continue to work his magic in the director’s chair.”

Prior to joining Fast X, Leterrier had directed the Transporter films, The Incredible Hulk, and Now You See Me among other films. Fast and Furious 11 is expected to be the last film in the main franchise.
Background on Fast and Furious
The Fast franchise started in 2001 with The Fast and The Furious starring Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. The movie and the next few sequels were more focused on street racing and smaller crimes associated with it like stealing DVD players off a truck or drug trafficking.
Starting with 2011’s Fast Five the franchise started a transition into a heist and action franchise. This trend has continued through all the later installments in the franchise. Fast and Furious 11 will likely include all these elements and more as the conclusion to the main franchise. However, the franchise could continue on with spin-offs.
