Sometimes I write things, but mostly I watch movies.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, Ralph Ineson has been cast as Galactus in Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four. Ineson joins a star-studded cast: Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm. Julie Garner is expected to play the Silver Surfer, the herald of Galactus. Additionally, John Malkovich and Paul Walter Hauser have recently been cast in unknown roles.
Inenson is best known for his roles in Harry Potter, The Witch, The Green Knight, and most recently, The First Omen. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Galactus is a massive cosmic being who must devour planets to keep living. He first appeared in Fantastic Four Issues #48 to 50, which contains one of the most iconic stories. Galactus was previously adapted in 2007’s Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Albeit, this movie was not well-received.
The Fantastic Four is directed by Matt Shakman who previously directed all nine episodes of WandaVision for Marvel as well as a few episodes of Apple TV+’s Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. The movie is being written by Josh Friedman, who had written Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, now currently in theaters, and worked on Avatar: Way of the Water. Friedman is tapped to write on the next two Avatar sequels.
