It has been announced by Deadline that a TV reboot of Frank Miller’s Sin City is in the works.

Len Wiseman, who has directed the pilot episodes of Hawaii Five-0, Sleepy Hollow, and Lucifer, will direct. Stephen L’Hereux, who produced Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, will also produce the show with the show’s writer Glen Mazzara, Sin City creator Frank Miller, Wiseman, and Bob and Harvey Weinstein.

It is said that the show will stay close to the comics and will introduce original comic characters and timelines and be separate from the films. The first movie, Sin City, released in 2005, received a 78% on Rotten Tomatoes and was well received. However, the second installment of the franchise did not have the same success, as Sin City: A Dame To Kill For released in 2014, received a 42% and was noted as lacking its predecessor’s brutal impact. Be that as it may, fans can hope that the television series’ take on the franchise will bring something fresh to audiences, while portraying the original grit and feel of the comic series.

Sin City is a noir-style comic series written by Frank Miller and published by Dark Horse Comics. Its publication ran from 1991 to 2000.
