It’s been a few days since Marvel Studios revealed at San Diego Comic Con that Captain Marvel would be taking place in the 1990s and the Kree-Skrull war will be heavily involved.
Today MCU Exchange has reported a few things which includes that the Kree hero Mar-Vell (The original Captain Marvel in comics) will be playing a major role in the film!
Apparently he will be involved in the Psyche-Magnitron accident which gives Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers her powers.
This accident is responsible in the comics for altering Carol’s genetic structure to transform her into a half-Kree superhuman.
It was revealed a month ago by Dr. Spiros Michalakis, Marvel’s physics consultant, that the Quantum Realm would play a huge part in in the movie. The source has told them that the Quantum Realm will also play a role in where Danvers has been and why she will not be appearing in Avengers: Infinity War. The specific details are unclear, but it should be addressed in either this film or the untitled Avengers 4, which Danvers is set to return in.
In addition, the earliest drafts of the script include references to her functioning as Ms. Marvel and that there will be a version of her early Ms. Marvel costume seen onscreen! Marvel Studios has always been known for being great about updating classic looks that respect the mythology without causing too much controversy, and we expect something similar will be done here as well.
Captain Marvel will release in March 8, 2019.
