Deadpool 2 has shutdown production following the tragic passing of stuntwoman Joi”SJ” Harris. Harris was a professional racer who was doing stunt driver work for the first time on a film. She was performing a motorcycle stunt while doubling for actress Zazie Beetz who is playing Domino in the film. Harris crashed her bike through the glass of ground-floor studio in Vancouver, which is where the film is shooting.
An investigation is being conducted by several Canadian law enforcement agencies. The production of the film is expected to resume soon. Several members involved with the film have given statements on the unfortunate passing including Ryan Reynolds via Twitter.

The films director David Leitch released this statement.
I’m deeply saddened by the loss of one of our stunt performers today. No words can express how I and the rest of the Deadpool 2 crew feel about this tragedy. Our thoughts are with her family, friends and loved ones in this difficult time.
20th Century Fox also released this statement.
We are deeply saddened by the accident that occurred on the set of Deadpool 2 this morning. Our hearts and prayers are with the family, friends, and colleagues of our crew member during this difficult time.
The Vancouver Police are investigating the incident and issued this statement.
Vancouver Police can confirm that a female stunt driver has died on the set of Deadpool during a stunt on a motorcycle. VPD officers are at the scene, along with officers from WorkSafeBC. More information will be released when it is available.
Deadpool 2 is set to be released June 1.
