Ever since the deal has been struck with Sony to share Spider-Man, Marvel fans as a whole have desired to bring all the Marvel characters together, hopeful for deals with studios like Fox for crossovers with X-Men, and more importantly, Deadpool! Of course, Marvel Studios, now owned by Disney, are keeping their films at the very most PG-13 rated, discouraging The Merc With A Mouth from joining the team regardless if a deal were struck. Who knows what could happen in the future, though?
Ryan Reynolds sure has hope! In an interview with Total Film, he comments on a crossover:
“That sounds like a great idea but a very expensive idea. Can you imagine the shit-talking contest with Iron Man? Oh, that would be great. But it would have to be rated R to completely unharness everybody. Unbridle the merriment and watch them go…”
It definitely would be expensive, both in striking a deal and risk of rating, but would indeed be great. Would love to see a dynamic between Deadpool with Iron Man, and even Spider-Man! I think that as the audience matures, so will the films, and so this isn’t entirely an impossibility, but it’s also Disney.
Despite how far-fetched it may seem, what would you think about Deadpool fighting with (or against) the Avengers? Let us know and and follow us @GeekMotivation on Twitter for more news like this.
