Despite many uncertainties with the fate of the solo Batman movie recent news suggests that it may begin filming in the summer of 2018.
During a Periscope Q&A Umberto Gonzalez, of The Wrap, said that the current plan was to begin filming in the summer of 2018. However he was quick to point out that “Nothing is set in stone” right now. Many people were speculating that filming would begin early next year. The extra time will allow for Matt Reeves to focus enough time on the script and eventual casting hopefully allowing for a better movie overall.
This latest news does throw doubt at whether The Batman’s release date will have to be changed and if so will this effect any other DCEU movies that are being lined up. If The Batman is being pushed back will this mean movies like Batgirl and the possible Nightwing movie will also have to adjust any timescale they are currently working with? For now we don’t know. Hopefully Warner Bros. will fill in some of these details in the coming months.
Amidst the unending rumors of Ben Affleck leaving, confusion of it’s place within the DCEU and the change of directors that have plagued this movie news it will begin filming within a year is sure to come as good news to some Bat-Fans out there. For more news stories just like this and to keep you geek motivated throughout the week please follow us on Twitter (@GEEKMOTIVATION)
