2017 has been an exciting year for fans of the web head. We finally got to see Spidey’s own solo MCU flick and it certainly did not disappoint. Spider-Man: Homecoming was a hit with both fans and critics and now it has become the highest grossing comic book movie of 2017!
However, that isn’t the only reason Spider-Man is back in the headlines.
Recently an extended version of a scene from the film was posted online that gave us a bigger look at the hinted Miles Morales in the MCU.
In the film, Donald Glover played the character of Aaron Davis who goes on to become the masked thief known as The Prowler in the comics. Aaron Davis also happens to be the uncle to Miles Morales.
In the theatrical version of this scene we see Aaron Davis make a reference to his nephew Miles before Spidey webs him up to his own car. The extended version shows us what took place afterwards.
Donald Glover’s character can be seen asking for help as people just walk by. He is then seen talking on the phone and says “I’m sorry, Miles, I’m not going to make it.” It’s a simple name drop, but it’s still very exciting for fans nonetheless. It verifies that Miles does indeed exist in the MCU and hopefully it opens up the possibility for him to take on the mantle of Spider-Man in the future.
This scene will most likely appear in the special features for the movie’s DVD/Blu-Ray release. Spider-Man: Homecoming will be swinging into your home on DVD/Blu-Ray on October 17.
