Next year Marvel’s beloved cinematic universe will be turning 10 years old. It all started in May of 2008 with Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man, and has since blossomed into a franchise that is instantly recognized throughout the world. Now, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has opened up about his plans for the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s 10th anniversary to Collider‘s Steve Weintraub:
“Primarily the movies we’re releasing next year are the celebration of the ten years Black Panther, obviously Infinity War and Ant-Man and the Wasp. Those are the primary focus.
In addition to that, the logo we revealed at D23. I have fond memories in 1987 of Star Wars, the first ten years, ’78-’87. They made a logo, they had t-shirts, they did small stuff. That was during the dark ages of Star Wars, where there hadn’t been anything. Thankfully we’re not in the dark ages right now with the MCU, but I think there’ll be just acknowledgements of the ten years that have come before. There will be some merchandise released and some re-releases in home video. Primarily it is all leading up to the three movies in particular and obviously, Infinity War.”

The new logo from D23 looks amazing, and hopefully, some of the merchandise Feige mentions has this incorporated into their designs. Unfortunately, it doesn’t sound like Marvel has any birthday bash event ideas in the works, but the chance to sport a MCU 10th anniversary hat would be awesome.
Be sure to catch Thor: Ragnarok in theaters on November 3 this year, and stay hyped for the three Marvel movies set to release next year; Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, and Ant-Man and The Wasp.
