May 4th marks a very big day for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This is the release date for the Avengers: Infinity War.
While we wait for it, The Russo Brothers recently commented on how some essential elements of the movie. To start, they stated that:
“With Infinity War, the biggest new element to the movie is Thanos and the fact that he’s entering the storytelling in a very bold, strong way, to the degree that he’s almost one of the leads. We’ve shaped an interesting narrative around him that in some ways leans heavily on a heist film in the fact that he’s going after the infinity stones in a much bolder, successful way than he has in the past.”
This is exciting to hear for both fans of the MCU and Marvel Comics, as everyone is familiar and wants the best version of the mad titan that we can get; and it sounds like the Russo brothers are hitting that idea on the head. He then goes on to say:
“There’s going to be a lot of unexpected characters. There are more surprises packed into this film than any of the others. Part of that is character interactions, new interesting characters, characters that have made small appearances that are getting fleshed out in this film.”
This brings music to not only my ears but many others. One of the best parts of the MCU is that each character exists in some way that impacts the story. The fact that smaller pieces are going to get fleshed out, even more, means that we could have even more stories to tell in the future. With the Russo Brothers coming out and saying all these details, it’s safe to assume that the Marvel Studios have really put the time and effort into developing this movie into the fantastic cinematic experience that we all want and except.
