The scrapped Boba Fett-centric film was supposed to include numerous different bounty hunters introduced in 1983’s The Empire Strikes Back, according to a report released by Entertainment Weekly. The group of bounty hunters would have been under the employ of legendary Darth Vader, after they arrived on the Star Destroyer in Episode V.
The film was scrapped with the emergence of Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian, expected to release next year following the launch of Disney’s streaming service. Prior to that, however, Logan writer and director James Mangold was attached to both write and direct the famous bounty hunter’s solo outting.
Fett met his fateful end in the opening act of 1985’s Return of the Jedi, during Luke Skywalker’s daring escape from the clutches of Jabba the Hutt, a notorious boss in the Hutt Syndicate. Fett fell victim to the sarlacc pit which was intended for Skywakler and his comrades.
The film still has the possibility of being revived in the future, but for now, the film has been shelved.
