During a convention panel, Guardians of the Galaxy Star Michael Rooker seemed to confirm James Gunn will be directing the anticipated sequel to 2016’s Suicide Squad. The film has gone through numerous directors and writers following the backlash from the first film. The most recent writer and director was Gavin O’Conner (The Accountant).
No official news has been released confirming Gunn to helm the project, and O’Conner is still rumored to be the director, however, Rooker and Gunn have a close relationship, and Rooker’s “slip” could show he knows more than the rest of us. Take this news with a grain of salt, but it may have some weight to it.
