Looks like Pixar’s been learning a thing or two on “How To Keep their Films Under Wrap” from their neighbors at Marvel Studios as Toy Story 4 is one of the most anticipated blockbuster films of this summer, and yet no new information has been revealed other than a basic synopsis of what’s new for Woody and the gang. With a teaser reveal last year (revealing the latest member Forky), another video featuring two new toys voiced by beloved comedians Keegan Michael-Key and Jordan Peele, and news of Praticia Arquette playing a “hippie mom’; the film sounds like it could be a solid hit with this new cast. Oh, and they hired Keanu Reeves. And there’s finally news of his role in the film.
According to Observer, the John Wick actor will play a toy named “Duke Kaboom”, “[…] who hails from a place where discontinued toys are sent.” Their sources revealed that Duke Kaboom will be playing a huge role for the movie as “Apparently, Bo Peep (voiced by Annie Potts) seeks out his help in retrieving her sheep after they’ve been taken from her.” Essentially, Reeves’ character could be a “John Wick” type of toy that will be core to the plot.
Toy Story 4 is written by Andrew Stanton and directed by first timer Josh Cooley, and reunites Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz (Tim Allen) and Jessie (Joan Cusack) for a June 21 release date.
