Back in January, it was announced that Starman, a film about David Bowie’s life in the 1970s and alter ego Ziggy Stardust, would be released at an unspecified date. The film is not set to feature any of Bowie’s music and according to Bowie’s son Duncan Jones, the film has not been given the family’s blessing.
Im not saying this movie is not happening. I honestly wouldn’t know.
Im saying that as it stands, this movie won’t have any of dads music in it, & I can’t imagine that changing. If you want to see a biopic without his music or the families blessing, thats up to the audience.— Duncan Jones (@ManMadeMoon) January 31, 2019
For those of you that are hearing about this for the first time, here’s the rundown. Johnny Flynn (Netflix’s Lovesick) is set to star as David Bowie. Jena Malone (The Hunger Games) and Marc Maron (Glow) are going to play Bowie’s first wife Angie and Bowie’s publicist Ron Oberman.
Now we finally have the first look of Flynn as Bowie and the likeliness is pretty good. I’m sure more photos will be released soon and we’ll keep you updated!
