Looks like Marvel Studios is dipping deep into the Spider-Man source material and pulling out a fan-favorite villain for its first inclusion into the Spider-Man film franchise! The Shocker is coming to the MCU.
As first reported by Nerdist, Logan Marshall-Green (24, The O.C., Prometheus) just might be stepping into the yellow checkerboard uniform of one of the most violent and tough-to-beat bad guys in the Spider-Man mythos, The Shocker. While his involvement with the film has been known for quite some time, and the rumors of The Shocker playing some kind of role in the film making the rounds since its inception, this is the first confirmation of Marshall-Green playing the infamous villain.
Making his first Marvel appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man #46 (March 1967), the Shocker (Herman Schultz) has the ability to deflect physical attacks, resist being grasped, and wears gauntlets that project concentrated vibrational air blasts.
This will mark his first appearance on the big screen and he will hopefully play a bigger role in the future as he is a longtime mainstay in the world of Spider-Man, and would be quite the adversary for Peter Parker, now and in the future.

Spider-Man: Homecoming opens on July 6, 2017.
Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, young Peter Parker (Tom Holland) returns home to live with his Aunt May. Under the watchful eye of mentor Tony Stark, Parker starts to embrace his newfound identity as Spider-Man. He also tries to return to his normal daily routine — distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just a friendly neighborhood superhero. Peter must soon put his powers to the test when the evil Vulture emerges to threaten everything that he holds dear.
