After a few weeks of Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness’ director’s chair being empty, it looks like Marvel Studios may have found someone to dust off the freshly-spun cobwebs!
Director Sam Raimi, known for his works on the 2000’s Spider-Man trilogy and the 1990’s Ash vs. The Evil Dead franchise, has reportedly entered into talks with Marvel Studios to direct the Doctor Strange sequel. The movie is expected to enter production in May 2020, and feature Baron Mordo, Scarlet Witch, Clea, and many other characters. America Chavez is also reported to appear in the film.
Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson left the project following some disagreements with Marvel Studios. In SDCC 2019, Derrickson claimed the film would be completely a horror film, while producer and head of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige stated that was not the case.
What are your thoughts on Raimi taking the helm of this project? Let us know in the comments below, and be sure to follow The Cinema Spot on Twitter (@TheCinemaSpot) and Instagram (@thecinemaspot_) to stay up to date with the latest Marvel Studios news!
