Although many of Hollywood’s upcoming films have been stalled due to the coronavirus pandemic, a new rumor has surfaced from FandomWire regarding the story of Black Adam. While full details remain under wraps, a new plot detail reports that the film will showcase two versions of the Justice Society of America.
Both versions of the team of heroes will face off against Black Adam, played by Dwayne Johnson, however in two different eras. It has long been reported that the JSA would appear in Black Adam, but details regarding the team’s lineup have eluded journalists for months. Now, it has become clear that some of the characters reported rounding out the roster will appear in a modern timeline.
It now looks like the original JSA in the film’s universe will be comprised of a younger version of The Wizard from Shazam!, Jay Garrick, Alan Scott, Hawkman and Hawkgirl, and Doctor Fate.
The modern version of the team will feature reincarnated versions of Hawkman and Hawkgirl, Atom Smasher, Doctor Fate, Cyclone, and Black Adam’s love interest Iris, also known as Adrianna..
The Justice Society of America is the predecessor of the Justice League of America, created in All Star Comics #3 by Gardner Fox and Everett Hibbard in 1940. The team has been featured numerous times throughout the years, holding their own long-running series’. After the hit 1980s comic Crisis on Infinite Earths, the team was retconned to alternate universes, allowing for the Justice League of America to protect the prime universe from any threat that reared its ugly head.
