The first of it’s kind event hosted by DC Comics, DC FanDome, took the world by storm on Saturday, August 22nd. Releasing trailers, first looks, film titles, and more, DC FanDome pulled off a massive feat when it wrapped it’s 24-hour event.
Now, WarnerMedia has reported that DC FanDome accrued 22 million views. To put this in perspective, the third season of Netflix’s Stranger Things had reported that the season received 18.2 million accounts watch all 8 episodes in the first 4 days (Post Cred Pod). DC FanDome offered 8 hours of original content that was available for only 24 hours. This is a marked achievement in the convention medium.
Since DC FanDome wrapped up, spectators have wondered about the possibilities of other studios joining in. From Marvel to Lucasfilm, this new convention format could begin a new era of company distribution of information to audiences.
